- Does Applebee’s have a birthday reward? Yes. Club Applebee’s members get a free birthday dessert, according to Applebee’s official Club page.
- Main condition: a minimum purchase of $15 or more, and Applebee’s says “exclusions may apply.”
- Who qualifies: Club Applebee’s members aged 13 or older. Joining is free, and the sign-up form asks for your birthday (it’s a required field).
- Welcome bonus: new members get a free appetizer, for first-time subscribers only, also with a $15 minimum purchase.
- Not published: when the birthday offer arrives, how long it stays valid, and whether it works for dine-in, To Go or both.
Applebee’s birthday perk comes through its free email and text club, Club Applebee’s. It isn’t a points program. You give Applebee’s your birthday when you sign up, and the official pages list “a free birthday dessert” as a member benefit, with a $15 minimum purchase.
Below we cover only what Applebee’s publishes itself: who can join, what the birthday treat is, the fine print, and the details Applebee’s doesn’t spell out. Where something isn’t published, we say so.

What is Club Applebee’s?
Club Applebee’s is Applebee’s free membership club. The official Club page lists four main benefits: a free appetizer when you join, a free birthday dessert, “members-only offers,” and offers by text message (text TASTY to 22337; message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out). Applebee’s also says members are the first to hear about new menu items, offers and partnerships.
Unlike some restaurant programs, Club Applebee’s doesn’t earn points per dollar. The official pages show no points balance, tiers or redemption chart. The perks are offers sent to members. One of the official restaurant FAQs calls it Applebee’s “email club.”
What is the Applebee’s birthday reward?
The Club Applebee’s page and the Offers page both list a “Free Birthday Treat,” and describe it as “a free birthday dessert.” The Sign Up form says the same: you get a free dessert for your birthday when you join Club Applebee’s.
The footnote under the birthday benefit adds two conditions:
- Minimum purchase of $15 or more. The dessert isn’t free with no purchase.
- “Exclusions may apply.” Applebee’s doesn’t list on these pages which desserts or locations are excluded.
One official Applebee’s restaurant page has a slightly looser answer in its FAQ. It says members receive “a special birthday treat, such as a free appetizer or dessert.” The national Club page names a dessert specifically. So expect a dessert, and go by the exact offer in your own account or email.
Who qualifies for the birthday dessert?
- Club Applebee’s members. Applebee’s ties the birthday treat to signing up for the Club.
- Age 13 or older. The footnotes say “You must be 13 years or older to join/participate.” The form shows an error if the birthdate is too recent.
- Your birthday must be on file. The Sign Up form asks for month, day and year, and won’t submit without a birthday.
Applebee’s doesn’t publish how long before your birthday you need to join for the reward to arrive that year. If your birthday is coming up soon, sign up as early as you can rather than counting on a last-minute join.
How to get your Applebee’s birthday dessert: step by step
- Go to the Club Applebee’s or Sign Up page on applebees.com (you can also ask your server about joining).
- Fill in your first and last name, email (twice), birthday, ZIP code, preferred Applebee’s and mobile number. All of these are required. A Veteran/Active Duty checkbox is optional.
- Agree to the Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, then join. Signing up also means agreeing to receive marketing messages, which you can opt out of.
- Watch for your welcome appetizer offer, and later your birthday offer, in your email, texts and the “My Coupon Codes” section of the Offers page once you’re logged in.
- Plan an order of $15 or more, and read the offer’s own details (dates, eligible items, dine-in or To Go) before you use it.
Fine print: what Applebee’s does not publish
We looked for the following on the official pages on November 3, 2026, and did not find it:
- When the birthday offer is sent (on your birthday, at the start of your birthday month, or some days before).
- How long it stays valid (a single day, a week, or the whole month).
- Where you can use it. The pages don’t say whether the birthday dessert works for dine-in, online To Go orders or delivery.
- Which desserts count and what the “exclusions” are.
- Whether the $15 minimum is before or after tax and tip.
The individual offer usually spells these out, so check the details on your coupon. If something isn’t clear, ask your local Applebee’s before you order.
Other Club Applebee’s perks and ways to save
- Free appetizer when you join: for first-time Club Applebee’s subscribers only, with a minimum purchase of $15 or more (exclusions may apply).
- Members-only weekly offer: on November 3, 2026 the Offers page showed a “Club Applebee’s Exclusive” for 6 free Boneless Wings To Go once a week, redeemable Sunday through Thursday. No end date was shown, so check that it’s still running.
- Wyndham Rewards partnership: Applebee’s says Club members who are also Wyndham Rewards members can get free delivery and earn Wyndham Rewards points (10 per $1) on Applebee’s orders to Wyndham properties through the Wyndham app. Dine Brands announced this on May 19, 2026. Those are Wyndham hotel points, not Applebee’s points.
- National promos: the Offers page also lists non-member deals. On our check day these included Sizzlin’ Skillets “starting at just $12.99.”
- Veterans Day: an official Applebee’s restaurant FAQ says Applebee’s offers free meals from a special menu to veterans and active-duty military every Veterans Day (November 11). Confirm this year’s details on Applebee’s Veterans Day page.
Tips to get the most out of it
- Join well before your birthday, since Applebee’s doesn’t publish a cutoff.
- Use a real birthday. The form requires it, and the reward is tied to it.
- Don’t spend your welcome appetizer and birthday dessert on the same visit unless the offers say you can combine them. Applebee’s doesn’t publish whether they stack.
- Keep your profile up to date. Applebee’s says doing so means “more personalized offers.”
- Turn on texts if you want them. Some member offers come by SMS, and you can stop them any time by replying STOP.
