Quick answer
  • Is MVP Rewards still around? No. Subway turned MVP Rewards into Sub Club in December 2025, and MVP members were moved over automatically.
  • Points per $1: Sub Club members earn 10 points for every $1 they spend, according to subway.com.
  • What points are worth: 400 points get you $2 in Subway Cash. That works out to $2 back for every $40 you spend, or about 5%.
  • Sign-up and birthday: New members get 250 bonus points, plus a birthday surprise if their birthday is saved in their profile.
  • Expiration: Points expire after 6 months with no account activity. Any activity resets the clock.

What happened to Subway MVP Rewards

Subway launched MVP Rewards in 2023 to replace MyWay Rewards. On December 1, 2025, it announced the return of Sub Club, its old punch-card program from decades ago, this time as a digital program. MVP Rewards accounts were converted to Sub Club automatically, so you don’t need to sign up again. Use the same Subway account and app login.

At first, the new Sub Club gave you a free footlong after you bought three footlongs (or six 6-inch subs). Subway then announced changes: starting February 23, 2026, only full-priced subs earned stamps, and on April 1, 2026, the free-footlong offer ended and Sub Club became a points program. Free footlong coupons you already earned expire on the date printed on each coupon.

How Sub Club points work

The math is simple. Every $1 you spend earns 10 points, and every 400 points becomes $2 in Subway Cash. So you need about $40 of eligible spending for each $2 reward. Your 250-point join bonus covers more than half of your first reward.

Eligible spend Points earned Subway Cash value
$10 100 $0 (need 400)
$40 400 $2
$120 1,200 $6
$200 2,000 $10

The table doesn’t include the 250 join bonus or any promo bonus points. Subway’s terms say points are based on your total purchase (minus the exclusions below), rounded up or down to the nearest dollar before sales and discounts. Points normally post within 24 hours. Points from promotional bonuses can take longer.

How to earn points

How to redeem Subway Cash

Points convert in $2 steps: 400 points for $2, 800 for $4, 1,200 for $6, and so on. Under the current terms, you can use up to $50 in Subway Cash on one order’s subtotal (after discounts, before tax). If a $2 reward is more than what’s left on your bill, the extra is lost. For example, using $4 on a $3.50 subtotal wastes $0.50. Subway Cash has no cash value and can’t be used on catering or third-party delivery orders.

The updated terms that take effect November 3, 2026 add stricter rules: only one reward per order, rewards go on the lowest-priced qualifying item, and rewards can’t be combined with other offers. Those terms don’t restate the 400-point rate, so check the rewards section of the app after November 3 to confirm how redemption looks.
