Quick answer
  • CSL Plasma: text BAL to 33433 to get your Paysign card balance (text JOIN first to sign up). Paysign customer service: 888-522-4853.
  • BioLife: check for free in the cardholder dashboard at login.mypaymentvault.com/biolife, or text BAL to 445544 after registering your mobile number.
  • Grifols: the Grifols Plasma Pay Card is powered by Chase. Use prepaid.chase.com or call Chase at 1-888-252-3231.
  • Octapharma: Northlane cards use MyPaymentVault (1-866-326-8689); Comdata cards use fintwistsolutions.com (1-888-265-8228).
  • Everyone else (KEDPLASMA, ImmunoTek and more): use the website or phone number printed on the back of your card, or ask your center.

Plasma centers in the US don’t hand out cash. Your pay for each donation is loaded onto a prepaid debit card, and each chain works with a different card provider. That’s why “plasma card balance” doesn’t have one single answer: the right website, text code or phone number depends on which company you donate with. We went through the official FAQ and payment pages of the major chains to collect the balance-check methods each one actually publishes, plus the card fees they disclose.

CSL Plasma: Paysign card balance

CSL Plasma loads your payment onto a reloadable card at the end of each donation, and its FAQ says the money is “immediately ready for use.” The card is managed by Paysign.

  1. Text JOIN to 33433 to enroll in text banking.
  2. Text BAL to get your balance. Other keywords CSL lists: PAY (last payment), TRAN (recent transactions), HELP, and STOP to cancel.
  3. Use the Paysign app if you prefer: CSL’s FAQ points donors to it through the QR code on the card materials, and the app’s App Store listing says it shows your balance and transaction history.
  4. Call Paysign at 888-522-4853 for card questions or to report a lost or stolen card.

Fees and limits CSL publishes: the first replacement card is free and later replacements cost $5.95. CSL warns a fee may apply if you try to spend more than your balance. Funds can’t currently be moved to a checking account or another debit card. For the full fee list, CSL says to call the toll-free number on the back of your card. To find in-network ATMs, CSL points to allpointnetwork.com. iGive Rewards points you redeem in the app land on the same card within 24 to 48 business hours.

BioLife: Mastercard debit card balance

BioLife pays onto the BioLife Debit Card, a Mastercard that holds “all funds you receive from BioLife.” BioLife’s page doesn’t name the bank behind the card, but the card’s online portal is MyPaymentVault.

  1. Activate at login.mypaymentvault.com/activate or by calling 888-472-0099.
  2. Register at login.mypaymentvault.com/biolife and choose “Register your card now” under First time user.
  3. Check your balance for free in the cardholder dashboard.
  4. Turn on text checks: add your mobile number in the dashboard, then text BAL to 445544.

Avoid checking your balance at an ATM: BioLife’s page warns that “you will be charged a fee!” there, without listing the amount. The page also says you can move money to your bank account from the dashboard’s “Access $” tab, and that Moneypoint ATMs always accept the card.

Grifols: Grifols Plasma Pay Card powered by Chase

Grifols has switched donors to a new Grifols Plasma Pay Card powered by Chase, a Visa debit card. You get it at your next donation visit, and it has to be activated before use.

Published fees: issuance, monthly service, purchases, customer service and inactivity are listed as free. ATM withdrawals cost $1.00 in-network and $2.00 out-of-network (plus any ATM owner surcharge), and foreign transactions cost 2.5%. Replacement cards are free by standard mail, or $15 expedited. Use Chase or MoneyPass ATMs to keep fees down. The card can’t be added to Apple Pay or Google Wallet.

Octapharma: Northlane or Comdata card

Octapharma Plasma cards come from one of two providers, and the FAQ tells donors to contact “the associated debit card provider directly” for balance, PIN or lost-card questions. Look at your card to see which one you have.

Octapharma says payments are credited within 24 hours of a successful donation; if it’s later than that, contact your center. ATM withdrawals cost $1.50 each on both cards, and credit or debit purchases are free. The full fee list is on the insert that came with your card.
