Last updated: November 5, 2026 · On November 5, 2026 we checked the Red Robin Royalty page, the Red Robin Royalty Terms & Conditions (version dated June 1, 2026), the Red Robin FAQ, the Royalty program changes page and Red Robin’s official press releases. Red Robin can change or end offers at any time, so confirm what’s in your Royalty account before you go.
- The guaranteed free Red Robin birthday burger has been phased out. Red Robin’s Royalty terms say that effective June 1, 2026, the Birthday Burger Offer “is becoming part of a Surprise & Delight offer” and will not be renewed.
- Last one in 2026: members who already qualified before June 1, 2026 and whose birthday month began on or before July 1, 2026 could redeem one final Birthday Burger during their 2026 birthday month.
- What’s left: the Royalty page still promises “a birthday treat during your birthday month,” but it doesn’t say what it is. Under the terms, birthday-related surprise offers go to members who added their birthday and opted in to marketing messages.
- Kids still get a confirmed offer: $7 off a child’s check (17 or under) with a $4.99 minimum purchase, once during their birthday month, dine-in only.
- Everyday rewards: 1 point per $1 on food and drinks, and every 100 points automatically becomes a $10 reward. New members can get a free appetizer with a $10 minimum purchase.
For years, “Red Robin free birthday burger” was one of the easiest birthday freebies to explain: join Red Robin Royalty, and a burger showed up in your account during your birthday month. That changed in 2026. Red Robin’s current Royalty terms fold the birthday burger into a broader set of “Surprise & Delight” offers, so it is no longer something every member can count on.
This guide explains exactly what Red Robin’s official pages say in November 2026: who got the last birthday burger, what a birthday treat may look like now, the kids’ birthday offer that still exists, how Royalty points work, and other real ways to save at Red Robin.

What happened to the Red Robin free birthday burger?
Red Robin’s Royalty Terms & Conditions carry a version date of June 1, 2026. In them, Red Robin says the former Birthday Burger Offer is becoming part of a Surprise & Delight offer as of that date. Instead of a fixed birthday burger for every member, birthday perks now fall under limited-time offers that Red Robin sends out and tailors using things like your menu favorites and order history.
There was a short transition. Members who had already met the Birthday Burger requirements before June 1, 2026, and whose birthday month began on or before July 1, 2026, kept the right to redeem one final Birthday Burger during their 2026 birthday month. In practice, that covers birthdays from January through July. After that, the terms say the offer will not be renewed.
So if your birthday is in November or December 2026, or you’re planning for 2027, don’t expect the old free burger to appear automatically. Red Robin’s Royalty page still mentions a birthday treat, but it doesn’t say what that treat is, whether a purchase is needed, or how long it lasts. We could not confirm those details on any official page.
How to get whatever birthday treat Red Robin offers now
Red Robin’s terms say some Surprise & Delight offers may only go to members who have given their birthday (month and year), and that you must opt in to marketing or promotional messages to be eligible. To give yourself the best chance:
- Join Red Robin Royalty for free on redrobin.com or in the Red Robin app.
- Add your birthday (month and year) to your profile. The Royalty page lists this as part of completing your profile.
- Opt in to email, text or app notifications. Opting out can make you ineligible for some rewards, according to the terms.
- Verify your phone number. Your account is tied to it, and offers are validated by phone number or account sign-in when you pay.
- Read the message carefully. Surprise offers can only be redeemed during the time stated in the message, and they can vary by area and restaurant.
The Red Robin kids’ birthday offer (still active)
The Kids’ Birthday Offer is the one birthday perk with clear, confirmed terms in November 2026. If you are a Royalty member with a child 17 or under, add the child’s birthday to your account. Here’s how it works, according to the terms and FAQ:
- It activates once a year on the first day of the child’s birthday month.
- It’s worth $7.00 off the child’s check with a minimum accompanying purchase of $4.99.
- It can be redeemed once during that birthday month.
- It’s dine-in only, because the child has to be there.
- It can’t be combined with other discounts.
How Red Robin Royalty works in 2026
Red Robin moved Royalty to a points system in May 2024, and the June 2026 terms keep that structure. You earn 1 point for every $1 you spend on food and beverages. When you hit 100 points, Red Robin automatically issues a $10 Reward, and those 100 points come off your balance.
- Where you earn: dine-in, takeout, curbside and Red Robin’s own delivery, when you give your server your account phone number, enter it on the tabletop device, or order signed in on the website or app.
- What doesn’t earn points: discounts, tax, tips, alcohol, gift cards, merchandise, catering and orders through third-party delivery platforms, among others.
- Using a reward: each $10 Reward is good on a qualifying purchase in a restaurant or on the website or app. If you don’t use the full $10 on one check, the rest is lost, and it can’t be combined with other rewards or discounts.
- Expiration: $10 Rewards expire 90 days after they’re issued. All points expire if you go 365 days without a qualifying purchase.
- Missed a visit? The FAQ says you have 30 days to add a missed purchase, but purchases made before you registered can’t be credited.
New members can also get a free appetizer with a $10 minimum purchase. The Royalty page says it’s valid once, for dine-in or to-go, for a limited time, and it excludes Bone-In Wings, Boneless Chicken Bites and the Triple YUMMM Platter.
Other ways to save at Red Robin
- Big YUMMM Deals value menu: launched January 26, 2026, with meals starting at $9.99 that include a bottomless side and a bottomless drink. Red Robin says it’s dine-in only at participating locations for a limited time.
- Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2026): veterans and active-duty military members can get a free Red’s Big Tavern Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries, dine-in only, with a valid military ID or proof of service. It can’t be combined with Royalty rewards.
- Everyday drink deals: the January 2026 release lists a $5 Coors Light pint and an $8 House Margarita for dine-in guests 21 and older.
- Royalty offers in your inbox: since birthday perks are now part of surprise offers, keeping notifications on is the main way to catch them.
Tips to get the most from Red Robin on your birthday
- Update your profile now with your birthday and your kids’ birthdays, so nothing is missed when the month starts.
- Check the app on the first of your birthday month to see if a birthday treat or surprise offer has landed.
- Bring the kids for their birthday. The $7 kids’ offer is dine-in only and the child has to be present.
- Time your $10 Reward. If a reward is close to its 90-day expiration, a birthday dinner is a good time to use it, but remember you can’t combine it with other discounts.
- Split checks for multiple members. Only one Royalty account can be applied to a check, so ask for separate checks if everyone wants points.
