Below we explain what Olive Garden officially says about the birthday dessert, what it leaves out, and the other published ways to save. We only list rules that appear on Olive Garden’s own pages.

What the Olive Garden birthday reward is
In its FAQ, Olive Garden answers the question “Is there a free birthday offer in the restaurant?” directly. Guests can receive a complimentary dessert on their birthday when they dine with Olive Garden.
The same answer says to sign up for the eClub and include details like your birthdate and address. Olive Garden uses that information to send special coupons for your local restaurant. That is why your address matters: it links you to a nearby Olive Garden.
Olive Garden does not name which desserts qualify or list a dollar cap. Some news and blog sites quote a specific value from a printed flyer, but that is not on Olive Garden’s official pages, so we do not repeat it here.
Who qualifies
Based on the FAQ, you need two things:
- An eClub sign-up with your birthdate and your address.
- A visit on your birthday, since the FAQ ties the dessert to dining with Olive Garden.
Olive Garden does not publish a minimum age for the eClub on the pages we checked, and it does not say how far ahead of your birthday you need to sign up. If your birthday is close, join as early as you can.

How to get your Olive Garden birthday dessert, step by step
- Go to olivegarden.com and find the eClub sign-up (the Specials page has a “Join eClub” link).
- Enter your email, your birthdate and your address so Olive Garden can connect you to your local restaurant.
- Watch your inbox, including the promotions and spam folders, for eClub emails and coupons.
- When your birthday offer arrives, read its terms. That is where the dessert choice, value limit and expiry date will be.
- Visit your Olive Garden and show the coupon to your server before you order or pay.
Fine print: what Olive Garden does not publish
We looked for the following on the official pages on November 4, 2026, and did not find it:
- The dessert’s value or menu limits (which desserts count, or a maximum price).
- Whether a purchase is required, such as buying an entree.
- When the birthday coupon is sent (on your birthday, the week before, or the start of your birthday month).
- How long it stays valid after it arrives.
- Whether it works for To Go or delivery, or only when you dine in.
- A minimum eClub age or a sign-up deadline before your birthday.
Your coupon’s own terms are the final word on all of these.
Does Olive Garden have a rewards program
No. The FAQ says: “We currently do not offer a rewards program, but you can sign up for our Eclub in order to receive news & offers.” So there are no points, tiers or free-entree milestones to earn.
Olive Garden also says it does not give discounts to one particular group of guests. Instead, it says it aims to give every lunch or dinner guest the best value it can. The FAQ does not list a military, senior or student discount.
Other ways to save at Olive Garden
These are the savings Olive Garden publishes on its own pages:
- eClub coupons and news. The FAQ says joining the eClub is the way to be the first to hear about promotions and specials, and to receive coupons.
- $6 Take Home Entrees. The Specials page says you can buy any entree, online or in the restaurant, and take home a chilled classic for $6. Prices vary by location.
- Lunch-Sized Favorites. Listed on the Specials page for Monday through Friday before 3 p.m. Prices vary in certain locations.
- Never-Ending Pasta Bowl. The Specials page lists it as a limited-time offer. Olive Garden’s July 2026 announcement said it runs nationwide from August 31 to November 22, starting at $14.99, with early access for eClub members from August 24.
- Family-Style Meals and catering. Family-size pans and bundles are on the Specials page. Catering delivery needs a $100 minimum order before tax, with a 10% delivery fee up to $500 and 5% for every dollar after that.
- Bulk gift card discounts. The FAQ lists 5% off gift card purchases of $500 to $999 and 10% off $1,000 and more, ordered through the Gift Card Center at 800-248-4935.
Tips for your birthday visit
- Join well before your birthday so the eClub has time to send your coupon.
- Use an address near the Olive Garden you visit, since coupons are sent for your local restaurant.
- Mention the coupon early. Tell your server before you order, not when the check comes.
- Pair it with a published special only if the coupon terms allow it. Olive Garden does not say whether offers combine.
- Plan for leftovers. If you want more for later, a $6 Take Home Entree can stretch your meal into tomorrow’s lunch.
