Last updated: October 2026 · Prices and plan details come from Rackspace’s official email pricing page, the Rackspace Spot pricing pages and the Liquid Web press release on Cloud Sites, all sources checked on October 22, 2026. Rackspace can change prices at any time, so confirm at checkout.
- No public coupon code: Rackspace doesn’t publish a promo code in October 2026. The old “$25 off Cloud Sites” deal is dead, because Rackspace no longer sells Cloud Sites.
- Cloud Sites is gone from Rackspace: Rackspace sold the Cloud Sites business to Liquid Web in a deal announced on August 8, 2016.
- Cheapest way in: Rackspace Spot, a Kubernetes service where servers are auctioned. The official floor price is $0.001 per hour, and the basic (non-production) control plane costs $0 a month.
- Business email: Rackspace Email lists $10 per mailbox per month, Email Plus $12 and Plus with Archiving $18, each with a 14-day free trial and no long-term contract.
- Managed cloud: Rackspace’s enterprise services (managed cloud, AI cloud, migration, security) are quote-only. The homepage lists no public discounts or trials for them.
Rackspace Technology started in San Antonio as a managed hosting company and is now mostly an enterprise cloud services firm. Many coupon pages still list a “$25 off Cloud Sites” code or “25% off your first month” from years ago. Those offers don’t work because the product they applied to left Rackspace in 2016. We checked rackspace.com and spot.rackspace.com on October 22, 2026, to see what you can actually buy today and what it costs.

What happened to Rackspace Cloud Sites?
Cloud Sites was Rackspace’s platform for hosting websites. It ran WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, PHP and .NET sites for designers, developers and agencies. On August 8, 2016, Liquid Web announced it had agreed to buy the Cloud Sites business unit from Rackspace. The team stayed in San Antonio, and Rackspace said it would add Liquid Web to its partner network as an email reseller.
Today rackspace.com doesn’t list Cloud Sites or any shared website hosting plan. Its main menu covers enterprise AI cloud, consulting, migration, managed cloud operations, cloud optimization, data, cybersecurity, applications and “Modern Work.” Any coupon that promises “$25 off Cloud Sites starting at $150/mo” is from before the sale and won’t work on rackspace.com. If you’re a former Cloud Sites customer, your account and billing questions go to Liquid Web, not Rackspace.
Is there a Rackspace promo code?
No. We found no public promo code on rackspace.com or spot.rackspace.com in October 2026. The email pricing page, the Rackspace Email product page and the Spot homepage list no promotions. The enterprise pages only offer “Talk to an Expert” and quote requests. The $10 email price carries an asterisk that links to Rackspace’s special pricing terms, so read those before you sign up. Codes posted on coupon sites usually come from old Cloud Sites or Cloud Servers campaigns that ended years ago.
Real ways to save with Rackspace
1. Use Rackspace Spot for cheap Kubernetes servers
Rackspace Spot sells spare server capacity “auctioned in an open market,” delivered as fully managed Kubernetes clusters. You set a maximum bid, but you pay the market price, not your bid. Here’s what the official pricing docs list:
- Compute: minimum base price of $0.001 per hour across all regions. On October 22, 2026, the pricing table showed $0.01/hr Spot prices for small 2 vCPU, 4 GB servers in several regions.
- Control plane: $0/mo for a basic (non-production) one, $40/mo for a highly available production one.
- Load balancers: $10/mo each.
- Storage: $0.06 per GB-month for SSD volumes, $0.02 for SATA.
- Bandwidth: free ingress, plus 100 GB of egress per month for each GB of average compute RAM you use. Extra egress costs $0.01/GB.
- Billing: per second. You aren’t billed for servers that lose the auction or never reach READY.
The catch is pre-emption. If the market price rises above your bid, your Spot nodes get a notice, are drained about a minute later and are then removed. Rackspace’s own advice is to bid higher, design apps to handle restarts, and keep critical parts on On-Demand servers in the same cluster.
2. Start Rackspace Email with the 14-day free trial
- Go to the Rackspace Email pricing page and pick Rackspace Email, Email Plus or Plus with Archiving.
- Start the 14-day free trial and set up a few test mailboxes on your domain.
- Only add Email Plus ($2 more per user) for people who need file storage, mobile sync and Office-compatible apps.
- Add Archiving only for mailboxes that need it for compliance. It’s $6 more per user than Email Plus.
- Since there are no long-term contracts, cancel any mailbox you no longer need. Note that Rackspace says account minimum monthly charges apply to Cloud Office products.
3. Get a custom quote for managed cloud
Rackspace doesn’t publish list prices for managed AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, private cloud or security services. Pricing depends on your environment, so you get a quote by contacting sales. When you compare quotes, ask what’s included in the support fee and whether a longer term lowers the price. Rackspace’s site doesn’t publish a term discount, so treat any figure as something you negotiate.
Tips and common mistakes
- Don’t chase old codes: “Cloud Sites” and “25% off first month” codes come from Rackspace’s old public cloud era. They won’t apply to Spot or Rackspace Email.
- Spot isn’t a VPS: it’s managed Kubernetes. If you just want one small server for a WordPress blog, a regular VPS host may be simpler.
- Bid with headroom: a bid exactly at market price gets pre-empted the most. Rackspace’s capacity insights say an 80th-percentile bid carries low risk.
- Use the free control plane only for testing: the $0 control plane isn’t highly available. Production clusters should use the $40/mo HA option.
- Watch egress: egress beyond your allowance is billed at $0.01/GB, so check usage if you serve a lot of downloads.
- Startup programs: Rackspace ran startup and developer discount programs years ago, but its current site doesn’t list one. Don’t plan around it.
