How Krispy Kreme Rewards works
The program is points-based. You earn 10 points for every $1 you spend on qualifying purchases, then turn those points into rewards from the Rewards Menu in the app. Points are calculated on the base price, so tax, delivery fees and other charges don’t count. There are no membership tiers: every member earns at the same rate.
According to the program terms (last updated February 25, 2026), points usually post within 24 hours. You can earn by ordering in the app, ordering online at krispykreme.com, or identifying yourself as a member at a participating shop. Rewards work only at participating U.S. shops and are not available in Puerto Rico or other U.S. territories.
What you can redeem points for
Krispy Kreme lists four reward levels on its Rewards page. It doesn’t publish the point cost for each one. The terms say the Rewards Menu in the app shows the points required, and those amounts can change.

Once you convert points into a reward, the clock starts: the reward expires 30 days after it first appears in your account, and the points aren’t refunded if it lapses. Don’t convert points until you plan to visit.
The Krispy Kreme birthday doughnut
Krispy Kreme’s Rewards page promises members “a sweet birthday gift.” It doesn’t say what the gift is, and the program terms don’t mention it at all. Recent food-media reports describe a free treat sent to members with a birthdate on file, and say the item can vary by shop. Treat any specific number you see online as unofficial.
To get yours:
- Join Rewards in the app or at krispykreme.com and add your date of birth to your profile.
- Join well before your birthday month. Last-minute sign-ups may miss that year’s gift.
- Keep Krispy Kreme emails and app notifications turned on so you see when the reward lands.

Free doughnut days Krispy Kreme has announced
Krispy Kreme doesn’t run a standing calendar of free days. Instead, it announces dated promos, so treat each one as a single event:
- Halloween 2026: On Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, 2026, guests who wore a costume to a participating U.S. shop could get one free Original Glazed or Classic Ring doughnut, no purchase needed (in-shop and drive-thru only, limit one per guest). Watch for a similar offer around Halloween.
- National Doughnut Day 2026: On Friday, June 5, 2026, Krispy Kreme gave one free doughnut of any kind per guest with no purchase (limited-time and seasonal doughnuts excluded). It also sold a $2 Original Glazed dozen with the purchase of any dozen. That date has passed, but Krispy Kreme has announced a National Doughnut Day deal in recent years, so watch for it next June.
- Hot Light: The red “Hot Now” sign means Original Glazed doughnuts are coming off the line fresh. Many shops hand out a free sample when it’s on, but that’s a local custom, not an official program rule.
Ways to save at Krispy Kreme
- Order in the app. App and online orders earn points automatically, and members get exclusive app offers.
- Use your sign-up doughnut early. It comes with any purchase, so pair it with a coffee or a small order.
- Time a big order for your anniversary. Members earn 2X points for their membership anniversary, which is a good time to buy a dozen.
- Save points for bigger rewards. Save up for the 6-count or dozen tier if you usually buy for a group.
- Fundraising groups: Watch for fundraiser promos. For example, from September 23 through October 30, 2026, Krispy Kreme gave 10 free fundraising products when you buy 50 in one transaction.
Fine print to know
- Gift cards, merchandise, catering orders and fundraiser purchases don’t earn points.
- Points expire if your account has no qualifying purchase or reward redemption for 365 consecutive days. Bonus points alone don’t count as activity.
- Accounts may be canceled after two consecutive years of inactivity.
- Points and rewards are personal and can’t be transferred, sold or shared.
- Not every shop awards points or honors rewards, and Krispy Kreme says some discounts and coupons may not combine with online ordering.
- Doughnuts bought at grocery or convenience stores are sold by those retailers, so don’t expect them to earn points.

- Points missing? Wait 24 hours, then log the purchase manually. You have 30 days from the purchase date to do it.

- Reward won’t scan? Confirm the shop participates and the reward hasn’t passed its 30-day expiration.
- Points disappeared? A full year without a qualifying purchase or redemption wipes the balance.
