Old Navy is a go-to for affordable family basics, so it makes sense that service members, veterans and military spouses want to know if a discount applies. The honest answer in 2026: Old Navy doesn’t publish one.
This guide explains what Old Navy and its parent company, Gap Inc., officially say as of October 31, 2026, what to do if you’ve heard about an in-store military discount, and the real, documented ways to pay less at Old Navy, from Encore rewards points to free shipping and the credit card offer.

Not officially. On October 31, 2026, we went through the places where Old Navy would normally spell out a discount program:

None of them mention a military, veteran or military spouse discount. Unlike retailers such as Lowe’s or Home Depot, we found no Old Navy military verification page (such as ID.me) and no military promo code for online orders.
What about the “10% in-store” military discount?
Several coupon and military-deal sites say some Old Navy stores give 10% off to service members who show a military ID. Old Navy does not confirm this anywhere on its website, so we can’t verify it. If a store offers it, it’s at that store’s discretion and could be refused at another location. The safe move is to ask the store manager before you shop, and don’t count on it for a big purchase.
As of October 31, 2026, we did not find a 2026 Veterans Day offer on oldnavy.gap.com or in the Gap Inc. newsroom. The promotions running on the homepage that day were general sales open to everyone, including Early Black Friday deals and an app-only extra 20% off, with exclusions.
Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, which is close to Old Navy’s Black Friday season. Shoppers often see big sitewide sales in November, but those aren’t military offers. If Old Navy announces a Veterans Day promotion, we’ll update this page.
Old Navy is part of Gap Inc., along with Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta. All four brands now share one loyalty program, Encore, and the same program terms. Those terms don’t include a military discount for any of the four brands. Gap Inc.’s own archive shows Banana Republic ran an “Our Duty to You” military program in 2012 (including 15% off full-priced purchases with a valid military or veterans ID through December 31, 2012), but that was a past, limited-time campaign, not a current policy.
If you’re searching for Navyist Rewards, Gap Inc. announced on February 24, 2026 that its cross-brand rewards program was rebranded as Encore. Gap Inc. says existing members moved into Encore automatically and their earned points carried forward under the new point system. Old Navy’s credit cards are now the Encore credit card and Encore Mastercard, issued by Barclays.
1. Join Encore for free
Encore has three tiers. Here is what Old Navy’s Encore page and the program terms say:

The terms say every 500 points equals $1 in rewards. So at the Core rate, you earn about 1% back. Points expire if you don’t earn or redeem for 12 months, and they can’t be used on Clearance Center purchases, gift cards, taxes or shipping. You don’t earn points on coupon savings or discounted amounts.
2. Get free shipping on $50+
Old Navy’s homepage lists free shipping on $50+ for rewards members. Sign in before you check out. All-Access members get free standard shipping at $35+ when paying with an Encore credit card, but Old Navy says the $35 threshold doesn’t apply when the card is used through Apple Pay, Google Pay or other digital wallets.
3. Consider the Encore credit card (carefully)
Old Navy advertises an extra 30% off your first purchase when you open and use a new Encore credit card. The code expires 14 days after the account opens, must be used with the card as the only payment type, and is valid in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico). Cardmembers earn 25 points per $1 at Gap Inc. brands. Check the APR and terms at oldnavy.barclaysus.com before you apply, and only open a card you’ll pay off in full.
4. Shop the sales
On October 31, 2026, Old Navy’s homepage listed Early Black Friday deals from $8, an app-exclusive extra 20% off (exclusions apply), Deals & Steals from $6, and 50% off kids’ sweaters, coats and jackets through November 1. Sales change often, so check the “Today’s Deals” section and the app.
Yes, at select locations. According to a September 16, 2022 Army & Air Force Exchange Service article on army.mil, Old Navy clothing launched on ShopMyExchange.com and in about 60 PXs and BXs worldwide, at military-exclusive prices that are always tax-free. Honorably discharged veterans with verified Exchange eligibility can shop the online assortment. That’s an Exchange program, not an Old Navy store discount, and the assortment and pricing may have changed since 2022, so check ShopMyExchange.com or your local Exchange.
- Join Encore before your first order. It’s free, unlocks free shipping on $50+ and starts your points.
- Add your birthday to your profile early. Encore terms say it must be in your profile at least seven business days before the first day of your birthday month to get the birthday gift.
- Ask in store, don’t assume. If you’ve heard a local Old Navy honors a military discount, ask the manager before you get to the register.
- Time big hauls with sales. Old Navy’s sitewide and category sales often beat what a typical 10% discount would save.
