- Kohl’s Cash is a dollar-off coupon you earn during select Kohl’s promotions (Kohl’s lists $10 for every $50 spent in a single transaction) and then spend during a separate, printed redemption period.
- Earnings are based on what you pay after discounts, before tax. Gift cards and Sephora at Kohl’s purchases do not earn it.
- You can redeem it in store or on Kohls.com, but only between the dates printed on the coupon. It has no cash value.

Kohl’s says earn and redeem periods vary and are promoted in store, online and in advertising, so the dates above apply only to the offer we saw on October 25, 2026.
How Kohl’s Cash works
Kohl’s Cash runs in two separate windows. First comes the earn period: during a promotion, every qualifying purchase in store, at an in-store kiosk, on Kohls.com or in the Kohl’s App earns Kohl’s Cash. Kohl’s Cash pages list the rate as $10 for every $50 spent in a single transaction. Then comes the redeem period: the coupon only works between the dates printed on it, not before and not after.
The earning math uses the amount you actually pay for merchandise after all discounts and coupons, before tax and shipping. Earning ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the last day of the promotion.
How you receive it depends on where you shopped:
- In store: the associate hands you a printed coupon with your receipt.
- Online, kiosk or app: Kohl’s emails the coupon within 24 hours to the address you used at checkout. Kohl’s warns it will not resend that email, so save it. If you were logged in to your Kohls.com account, the Kohl’s Cash is also saved to your Wallet automatically.
If the email never arrives, check your spam folder; Kohl’s lists (855) 564-5705 for missing Kohl’s Cash.
How to redeem Kohl’s Cash (step by step)
- Check the dates. Look at the redemption period printed on the coupon. Online, Kohl’s accepts it until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the last day of the redemption period, while promotion dates are otherwise based on Central Time.
- Add it to your Wallet (optional). In the Kohl’s App, open the menu, choose Wallet, then Kohl’s Cash, and scan or type the barcode. You can also set reminders there.
- Find the numbers. On a store coupon, the 15-digit number is above the barcode on the back and the 4-digit PIN is to the right of the barcode. On coupons earned online, both are above the barcode.
- Apply it at checkout. Online, enter the 15-digit number and PIN. In store, hand the coupon or show your Wallet at the register.
- Stack your other coupons. Kohl’s Cash and other dollar-off coupons are applied first, then any percent-off total-purchase coupon is taken from what is left.
Where you cannot use Kohl’s Cash
The Kohl’s Cash page lists these exclusions. Kohl’s Cash cannot be used to buy or pay for:
- Sephora at Kohl’s merchandise
- Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise or other charitable items
- Gift cards
- Price adjustments
- A Kohl’s Card or third-party charge account balance
- Services or fees, including taxes and shipping
Combining Kohl’s Cash with coupons
Yes, Kohl’s Cash stacks. Kohl’s says it can be used with other coupons, sales and Kohl’s Rewards. Its multiple-coupon help article sets out the order no matter how you enter the codes: department-specific coupons apply first, then dollar-off coupons such as Kohl’s Cash, then one sitewide percent-off coupon.
The same article says up to six dollar-off coupons, including regular Kohl’s Cash and Kohl’s Rewards-issued Kohl’s Cash, can be used, and that in store you cannot split a transaction or use more than six Kohl’s Cash coupons across multiple transactions. It also states a maximum of four coupons on a Kohls.com order without explaining how the two limits interact, so check your cart total before you pay.
Kohl’s Rewards and Kohl’s Cash
Kohl’s Rewards, the free loyalty program, pays out in Kohl’s Cash:
- Earn rate: 5% on qualifying purchases every day, or 7.5% when you pay with a linked Kohl’s Card. Qualifying purchases are calculated after coupons and discounts and exclude gift cards.
- Conversion: if your balance is at least $5 at month end, it is issued as $5 Kohl’s Cash increments around the first of the following month. Anything under $5 carries forward.
- Validity: each Rewards-issued Kohl’s Cash coupon expires 30 days after it is issued.
- Expiration of the balance: the Rewards terms say a balance under $5 for more than 12 months expires automatically.
- Double dipping: Kohl’s says Kohl’s Cash shopping events add the promotional $10 for every $50 on top of your Rewards earnings, excluding Sephora purchases.

Returns, canceled orders and lost coupons
Returns: if you return or price-adjust merchandise that earned Kohl’s Cash, Kohl’s reduces the Kohl’s Cash value to remove the unearned part. If you already spent that Kohl’s Cash, the refund goes to your original payment minus the Kohl’s Cash amount spent. If the item you return was bought with Kohl’s Cash, that value comes back as “Return Kohl’s Cash,” valid for 30 days from the return date.
Canceled orders: Kohl’s says Kohl’s Cash is deactivated if the whole order is canceled for inventory reasons or if you cancel it yourself. If only part of an order is canceled for inventory, the Kohl’s Cash is reduced accordingly.
Lost or stolen: Kohl’s does not promise a replacement. Customer Service may be able to locate the Kohl’s Cash ID and check whether it was used, but only if you have the receipt from the purchase that earned it.
Tips to get the most from Kohl’s Cash
- Aim just above each $50 step. Earning is per single transaction after discounts, so a $48 cart earns nothing at the $10-per-$50 rate.
- Put it in the Wallet right away and set a reminder before the redemption period ends.
- Keep the earning receipt. It is the only way Customer Service may trace a lost coupon.
- Spend Rewards Kohl’s Cash fast. It lasts only 30 days from the first of the month.
What Kohl’s does not publish
- A full 2026 calendar of Kohl’s Cash earn and redeem events, including Black Friday dates. Not published as of October 25, 2026.
- A dollar value for the Kohl’s Rewards birthday gift.
- A replacement guarantee for lost, stolen or expired coupons.

$10. During Kohl’s Cash promotions, Kohl’s lists $10 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent in a single transaction, based on merchandise after discounts and before tax. Gift cards and Sephora at Kohl’s purchases do not count.
Does Kohl’s Cash expire?
Yes. It can only be used during the redemption period printed on the coupon. Kohl’s Cash issued from Kohl’s Rewards is valid for 30 days, and Return Kohl’s Cash is valid for 30 days from the return date.
