Who qualifies for the Lowe’s military discount?
According to Lowe’s Everyday Military Discount page, the 10% is open to current or former service members of these groups:
- U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force
- National Guard
- NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Corps
- USPHS (U.S. Public Health Service) Commissioned Corps
That means active duty, retirees and veterans can all enroll. The one exception Lowe’s lists is veterans who received a dishonorable discharge, who are not eligible.
Can military spouses use the Lowe’s discount?
Yes, with a condition. Lowe’s extends the discount to enrolled, verified spouses of registered service members. Spouses must create their own Lowe’s account and complete their own ID.me verification. Lowe’s says spouses and service members can’t share one account, so each person who wants the discount needs a separate profile.
How to sign up and verify with ID.me
Lowe’s handles verification through ID.me, a third-party identity service. Here is the process Lowe’s describes:
- Go to Lowes.com/military/validation (linked from the military discount page).
- Sign in to your Lowe’s account or create one. You need a MyLowe’s Rewards Personal Account, which is free.
- Follow the on-screen steps to verify your military status with ID.me. If you already have an ID.me login from another site, you can usually reuse it.
- Check your profile at Lowes.com/mylowes/profile. Once approved it shows “Status Verified.”
You only verify once. Lowe’s says you don’t need to re-verify for each purchase. ID.me’s own terms also apply to the verification step.
Using the discount online vs. in store
On Lowes.com and the app
Sign in to your MyLowe’s Rewards Personal Account before you check out. Lowe’s says the 10% applies automatically to eligible items at checkout, so there’s no promo code to enter. If you don’t see it, make sure you’re signed in to the same account you verified.
In a Lowe’s store
Give the cashier the phone number on your MyLowe’s Rewards account and show a valid photo ID. Lowe’s lists these accepted IDs:
- Driver’s license
- State or federal ID card
- DoD ID card
- Passport or passport card
Your military ID isn’t required, since status was already confirmed through ID.me. The photo ID just confirms you’re the account holder.
What the Lowe’s military discount doesn’t cover
The exclusion list matters more than the percentage. According to Lowe’s, the 10% does not apply to:

Lowe’s says it may change eligibility, end the program at any time, or revoke enrollment for suspected misuse.
Is there a Lowe’s Veterans Day discount in 2026?
As of October 23, 2026, we did not find a 2026 Veterans Day announcement on Lowe’s corporate newsroom, and the military discount page does not mention Veterans Day. The most recent military-related release we found was Lowe’s May 22, 2026 Memorial Day announcement, which pointed customers to the same Everyday 10% Military Discount.
Because the 10% runs every day of the year, eligible shoppers don’t need to wait for November 11. If Lowe’s announces a Veterans Day promotion, we’ll update this page.
Other real ways to save at Lowe’s (no code needed)
- MyLowe’s Rewards: the free loyalty program. Lowe’s says 500 points equal $5 in MyLowe’s Money, and points expire 12 months after your last points-earning activity. Verified military members get automatic Silver status.
- MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card, 5% off every day: 5% off eligible purchases charged to the card, in stores and online. Lowe’s lists the Military Discount as an excluded promotion, so you get either the 10% or the 5% on a purchase, not both.
- New cardholder offer: on October 23, 2026 the credit page listed 20% off when you open and use a new MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card, with a maximum discount of $100 and one coupon per new account. It also can’t be combined with the Military Discount. Check the current terms and APR before applying.
- Lowest Price Guarantee: Lowe’s says it will match a qualifying lower price from a local or online competitor on an identical item, including the competitor’s shipping costs. It excludes clearance, open-box, marketplace sellers and discounts for select groups like military. Request it in store with an associate, by chat, or by calling 1-877-465-6937.
- Free shipping at $25: Lowe’s offers free standard shipping on eligible orders of $25 or more before taxes and fees, to the contiguous U.S., with item weight limits (under 150 lb, or 70 lb for APO/FPO and PO box addresses).
- Free same-day delivery for members: MyLowe’s Rewards members can get free same-day delivery on eligible in-stock orders over $25 in select ZIP codes, if ordered by 2 p.m. local time.
Tips to get the most from the Lowe’s military discount
- Compare 10% vs. 5% before you pay. If you carry the MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card, the 10% military discount is the bigger savings on eligible full-price items. The 5% card discount can still help on items the military discount doesn’t cover, as long as the card terms allow them.
- Check whether a sale beats 10%. Since sale items are excluded, a sale price of more than 10% off is better than the military discount on the full price.
- Plan appliance and lumber purchases separately. Major appliances and commodities like plywood and dimensional lumber are excluded, so budget for full or sale price on those.
- Verify before a big project. ID.me usually works quickly, but doing it at home avoids delays at the register.
- Spouses, set up your own account. Shared accounts aren’t allowed, so each eligible person should verify separately.
- Use APO/FPO shipping if you’re stationed overseas. Lowe’s free shipping covers APO/FPO addresses for eligible items under 70 lb.
