Every page we checked says “compensation amounts are subject to change.” The figures are “up to” amounts: you only get the full total if you complete the required number of successful donations in the 30-day window. Centers not listed here may advertise a different amount.
Is there a Freedom Plasma QR code or coupon?
No public coupon or QR code unlocks extra new donor pay. The new donor offer applies when you register as a first-time donor at a center that runs it. Real promotions reach you through a few channels only:
- The official center page on grifolsplasma.com (search “Freedom Plasma” plus your city).
- The center itself: staff at the front desk or the phone number listed on its page.
- DonorHub, the Grifols donor portal (grifolsplasmadonorhub.com) used for registration and scheduling.
- Texts, emails or flyers from your own center after you register.
- A friend who already donates, for the referral bonus.
Watch out for sites that promise a “Freedom Plasma QR code,” ask you to scan something to “activate” a bonus, or want your Social Security number or card details. Your SSN and ID are only shown in person at the center during registration. If a page isn’t the official site and doesn’t name a specific center, don’t trust its numbers.
Who runs Freedom Plasma?
According to company press releases on Business Wire (2022 and 2023), Freedom Plasma was developed and operated by ImmunoTek Bio Centers in partnership with “a global healthcare company and leading manufacturer of plasma-derived medicines.” Grifols announced a collaboration agreement with ImmunoTek in July 2021 to open plasma centers that serve Grifols’ manufacturing needs. Today, Freedom Plasma center pages sit on the Grifols Plasma website. We did not find an official statement giving the current total number of Freedom Plasma centers, so we don’t quote one.
Freedom Plasma requirements
The official center pages say you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (the Grifols Plasma FAQ gives an age range of 18 to 69)
- Weigh at least 110 lbs (50 kg)
- Be in generally good health and pass the medical screening
What to bring on your first visit
- A valid photo ID
- Proof of address
- Your Social Security number: a Social Security card, W-2 or pay stub showing your full name and SSN (a Border Crossing Card is also accepted)
What happens at your first donation
- Check in and paperwork: staff verify your ID and you fill in a health history questionnaire. Many centers accept walk-ins, and DonorHub lets you schedule.
- Health screening: vital signs, a quick finger-prick test and a private physical exam.
- Donation: a machine separates your plasma and returns your red cells and platelets through the same needle.
- Get paid: you receive a card before you leave, and your compensation is loaded after each successful donation.
Grifols Plasma says the first visit takes about 2 to 2.5 hours and later visits about 1 to 1.5 hours. One rule to know: first-time donors must come back for a second donation within six months, or the first donation is discarded under FDA rules.
Payment card and how often you can donate
Freedom Plasma pays on a prepaid debit card loaded after each donation; some center pages list Paysign among their services. You can donate up to twice in a seven-day period, and Grifols reminds donors of the FDA limit of twice a week with two days between donations. To earn the full new donor amount, you need 8 successful donations in 30 days, which works out to about two visits a week.
