What is the Ulta birthday gift?
The Ulta birthday gift is a free product that Ulta Beauty Rewards members can claim during their birthday month. Ulta’s terms say “all Members are eligible to receive a birthday gift each year, while supplies last,” and that it is offered “once per calendar year, during their birthday month.” Ulta Beauty Rewards is free to join, so you do not need any spending history to get it.
Gifts are deluxe samples and travel sizes, and the list rotates. On October 26, 2026, the online list on Ulta’s Birthday Rewards page had nine choices, including:

Ulta says the store selection may differ from the online list, gifts are limited with no substitutes or rainchecks, and it may change the gifts at any time. Treat the list above as a snapshot, not a promise for your month.
Who qualifies for the Ulta birthday gift?
According to Ulta’s official pages, you need all of the following:
- An Ulta Beauty Rewards membership. Ulta’s terms say members must be 13 or older and a resident of the United States.
- Your birthday in your account profile. The Birthday Rewards page says to add it “before your birthday month.”
- A valid email or the mobile app, and a marketing opt-in. The page’s fine print says “you must be opted in to receive marketing communications prior to your birthday month.”
Ulta does not publish a rule for changing a birthday that is already on file, and its FAQ does not cover it. If yours is wrong, contact Ulta Guest Services (1.866.983.8582, the number listed on the Birthday Rewards page) rather than editing it right before your birthday month.
How to redeem your Ulta birthday gift
In store
- During your birthday month, open your birthday email or the Ulta Beauty app and find your birthday coupon code.
- Show the code to the cashier and pick from the gifts the store has on hand.
- No purchase is needed: Ulta’s terms say in-store redemption does not require one.
Online
- Sign in to your Ulta Beauty Rewards account at ulta.com.
- Add an available birthday gift to your bag during your birthday month. Ulta says no coupon is needed; the gift applies as free at checkout.
- Your bag must include at least one non-UB Marketplace product with a subtotal greater than $0. Shipping rates apply.
- You can also enter one other valid coupon code on the same order, as long as its requirements are met.
Buy online, pick up in store or curbside
Pickup orders work like online orders: Ulta’s terms require a merchandise purchase of a non-UB Marketplace product subtotaling greater than $0. Past purchases, later Replenish & Save fulfillments, gift cards, gift wrapping, packaging, taxes and shipping don’t count toward that purchase.
2X birthday points and the Platinum/Diamond $10 off
Every member, whatever their tier, earns two times (2X) points on qualifying purchases in store and online during their birthday month, according to Ulta’s terms. The Birthday Rewards page labels this “2X points on select purchases,” and the Rewards program page carries a “Must activate 2X points” note, so check the offers in your app at the start of your birthday month and activate anything that shows up.

Platinum and Diamond members also get an extra $10 off in store or online, which Ulta calls “an exclusive perk for Diamond and Platinum members.” Ulta’s public pages do not publish a minimum purchase or exact validity dates for the $10 offer, so read the terms on the coupon itself when it arrives.
Fine print and exclusions
- Birthday month only: “Coupon is valid during Member’s birthday month, while supplies last. One coupon per member.”
- Not valid on: UB Marketplace transactions, Ulta sales through third-party marketplaces, auto-replenish orders, or purchases made outside the United States. The terms also list DoorDash, Instacart, Uber Eats, TikTok Shop and Google AI surfaces.
- No cash value: gifts can’t be redeemed for cash or gift cards, except where required by law.
- Can change any time: Ulta may change, alter or end the birthday gift at its sole discretion, without notice.
Tips to get the most out of your Ulta birthday
- Set up your profile a month early. Add your birthday and opt in to emails before your birthday month begins, or you may miss that year’s gift.
- Go early in the month. Gifts are “while supplies last,” and popular samples can run out in store.
- Grab the gift in store if you don’t need anything. In-store redemption needs no purchase, while online and pickup orders do.
- Time a bigger haul for your birthday month. 2X points apply to qualifying purchases all month, and Platinum and Diamond members can add the $10 off.
- Skip “Ulta birthday promo code” sites. Your birthday code comes by email or in the app, not from a public coupon list.
